  • Help with post workflow

I have a job where the 80% of the footage has been shot on a domestic camcorder at 29.97 1440 x 1080 The client wants to enter it to festivals so potentially I need to convert it all to 24p. Would it be best to cut at native rate and then convert later or convert first?

  • Re: No AC3 audio (Dolby) again... after installing 2019.12

For those that want to use AVCHD files in MC with this current AC3 problem, you could try this. It's a script based on FFMBC that will convert the audio in the AVCHD to PCM but leave the video alone. The resulting file is a MOV file that will have the same name as the source file. It will convert...

  • Relink 23.98 media to sequence cut in 24

There is a project shot in 24fps. Editorial cut with 24fps dailies (Avid MXFs) in a 24fps Avid project. Now, I have the same dailies, but they were converted through our transcoder to 23.98 Avid MXF. The frame conversion was done "properly," keeping all frames so timecode matches between 23...

  • Convert/Conform 30fps to 24 without dropping frames

I've got a lot of stock footage aerial shots shot at 30fps that I need to use on a 24fps project. There's no sound, so the best visual results would be a 1 to 1 frame transfer (effectively making the aerial shots slightly slow mo playing back at 24fps). These are smooth motion shots, so you really...

  • Jumpy playback on QT conversions to H.264

I'm having an issue with jumpy playback on a file that originated as an Avid export (29.97 fps, Avid DNxHD codec) and, using Quick Time 7 Pro, got transcoded to H.264 to meet YouTube's and Vimeo's upload specs. Here's the issue: tilts on still photos, which are smooth as silk in the direct...
