Bins don't tab into active pane

Hi,

I have a question regarding MC2021.12 which I am running on a Dell Inspiron 16 plus (i7, 32GB RAM, GeoForce RTX 3050)) with a second monitor.

Anybody out there know why when I do a Find Bin, the bin opens floating? The same problem when I open a bin from the project window--the first time I open it, it floats. If I close that bin a reopen it the same way, it finally does what I want: tabs into the active pane.

How can I get bins to tab into the active pane as a default. I already have chosen that option in the user settings but it doesn't seem to work under these circumstances.
