Doea anyone have any thoughts on how to fix this flicker I am getting on the client monitor? Everything is fine with a 23.98 project but the 1080/25p project causes a flicker in the bottom third of the screen. I am runningh MC 2021.12, Imac 27" (Monterey) with 64 gb ram. The client monitor is fed by a Black Magic UltraStudio Minimonitor (HDMI).
I have tried swapping out the client monitor (which is a cheap 40" tv) with two different tvs (one of which was new), I have also tried three different computer monitors. I have also tried creating a new project. The tv I have will say '1080p/25Hz' so it seems to sense the correct output but thern it flickers. If I switch the nproject format to PAL it will work without the flicker but of course it looks bad. The photo is a still frame of the flicker.
Thank you,
Brad
What happens if you flip the BMD's settings between P and PsF? Both are two different types of stream, both carrying a progressive 25fps signal. Many TV's that are fine with 23.976p over HDMI will not eat 25p, but are fine with 25psF (essentially 25p in a 50i container).
When I do that the three flickering stripes at the bottom go away but the entire image continues to flicker (the entire image was flickering before).
Have you tried any of the other BMD settings like color space?
Are any "picture enhancement" and motion flow type things on the tv turned off?
Or could it simply be the cable?
I used to have this exact same issue in my previous setup with the BM minimonitor. If I remember correctly the fix I found was to start up the Mac, log in, then unplug the Minimonitor and plug it back in after a few seconds, wait for it to connect (open up DesktopVideo and you'll see when it's connected), then launch MC.
