Hi everyone

I need to playout the film i am working on to a PRoRes file with the 5.1 Mix.

The  tracks are 

CH.1: LEFT          CH.2: RIGHT  CH.3: CENTRE  CH.4: LFE (SUB)  CH.5: LEFT SURROUND  CH.6: RIGHT SURROUND when i select the 5.1 QT option it doesnt seem to work. It creates a stereo QT. I dont have a mixing desk i am just working off an Imac, is there a setting i need to change? can i not create a 5.1 QT off a iMac? thanks so much my system is Imac, Avid Mediacompser 20.12.0

You're doing the export correct, but if your sequence and your mix have been done in stereo, a 5.1 output will be contain a signal on L/R whereas the C/Lfe/Ls/Rs would all be silent. If you need to export an actual 5.1 mix, you need to create an actual 5.1 mix in a 5.1 sequence.

If you have received a 5.1 mix, you need to add it to your sequence as a 5.1 element. That's the best way to go about it.

I ended up creating it in Davinci

but i'll now go and look at the avid settings - yes it was a 5.1 mix i received. I'll have a play in avid this afternoon
