This is not our experience. We manage dozens of shows on several Nexis setups. Almost all of them have a dedicated render workspace.

It is not a codec issue but how Quicktime writes and reads the gamma metadata (along with applications that support Quicktime). If you can work with MXF then you are better off. If not then you will need to play Russian Roulette that is QT Gamma. If you can use H264/265, then MP4 can also work.

Quicktime file? Welcome to Quicktime gamma hell. Try a different software to playback the file (i.e. VLC). Did you try AMA'ing it back in to Avid and checking the levels?

It is impossible to move one project from any X NLE to Y NLE. There are too many moving parts. API, codes, database, plugins, etc. that are miles apart between 2 platforms. Even a basic timeline can only be translated partially.

Overrun/Underrun errors 95% of the time means the storage cannot provide the bandwidth. First check the OS' detected speed of the network connection to the Nexis. If you are dual connected, make sure both ports have the same speed. Then check your switch. Make sure the configuration can support the workflow. Finally, check your Nexis. No drive errors

Regular individual license for MC Ultimate is $400 each. A Team license is $600 each. Team makes sense if you need the ability to move the license to certain individuals. If you are running a facility with remote freelance editors the Team license makes more sense. You provide the license on a per need basis and recover it after the editor's contract
