Hey all! So I got to the bottom of this. You do not need a Nexis Edge server to deploy the new online > offline workflow. You need Media Composer Enterprise to activate this proxy feature. You need to be running the 2022.10 + (I was running an older version that did not support this feature) See screenshot attached. HOW COOL IS THAT? NO CONFORM!

Hey Pat, I was under the impression that creating a proxy clip attached to a masterclip required a different workflow. See this screenshot attached, where there is a create proxy option under right click. I'm running Media Composer Enterprise Standalone, but I do not have that option in my menu
-
I see! So to confirm... the proxy workflow where you simply attach a proxy file to a master clip is available in media composer enterprise standalone? How would I set that up? When I right click I don't see a create proxies option like outlined in one of avid's videos describing this workflow
Correct. You need MC | Enterprise. You need Nexis Edge if you want to implement a proxy + remote workflow syncing.
Okay well this support rep was a bit of a redherring... He assured me that it would be possible to deploy the proxy online>offline one click workflow on a standalone media composer enterprise

Hi Bob, I'm a little confused now, I created a support case and the rep told me this: Hi, Media Composer | Enterprise has the feature to create a proxy as a standalone. Did you try with an am Enterprise license? He mentioned it is possible to deploy this workflow without a NEXIS shared storage system.

Hi all, I'm looking to setup that cool online > offline workflow, where you can attach a masterclip with offline proxy media. There should be a right click setting in media composer called "create proxies". Does this feature work on standalone media composer enterprise licensed systems, or do you need a nexis system to deploy this workflow

Hi, Media composer ultimate comes with an expert plus support plan. Just follow this link and create a support case, or call em https://www.avid.com/learn-and-support/contact-support

Perfect, thanks for updating the forum.
